Is vulnerability a weakness or strength?
Did you know that as contradictory as it may seem, vulnerability is synonymous with strength and is essential for personal growth and spiritual evolution.
We share the inevitability of challenges
During our life we all have both inspiring and challenging experiences. No matter how privileged and perfect anyones life seems from the outside, when you peak under the surface of their public persona you will find that we all have a past that includes events that has marked our inner world.
For some of us the challenges are enormous and for others more manageable. Regardless of the scale, the need for healing is essential to set yourself free from the past and the energy this brings to your life.
Let the light in
Imagine a locked room, with doors and windows closed for many years, blinds shut, stale air, dust gathering and the light so dim it’s hard to see clearly.
Now imagine entering this room and opening the blinds, windows and doors - let sunlight and fresh air in. Dust off the shelves and allow new and fresh energy to fill the room.
Feels better right?
This is much like your inner world. When you store grief and pain within, it becomes a part of who you are. In order to heal and move on from the past you need to open up to ‘let the past out’.
You are living energy
Ancient wisdom teachings tells us that we are energy beings and that everything that happens in your life flavours your energy field. They also affirm that the many forms of energy that makes up your being is your consciousness and that this consciousness is what determine the perception of your life.
The past can be trapped in your emotional body as energy. It becomes a part of your subconscious where it is quietly simmering away and most likely boils over from time to time when a suitable situation presents itself.
It may show up in the form of irrational fear, anger, anxiety, stress, overreacting to situations, lack of self-esteem or the need for arguments, complaining or conflict - the list goes on. Basically stored pain becomes grievance looking for a cause - the bigger the grief the larger the effects.
This is why opening up and allowing yourself to be vulnerable is essential for your evolution. When you let down your guard you set yourself free from your past and allow for fresh perceptions, thoughts, ideas and possibilities.
Evolution always starts with you
And yes, I also have had plenty of old rooms that needed to be unlocked to let the sunlight in. I was immersed in spirituality, I was a seeker and yet for many years I avoided looking within, hoping that my personal evolution was to be found somewhere outside myself. How contradictory does that sound in retrospect. :)
But as my spiritual maturity grew it became obvious that I had to turn inwards. I had to embrace vulnerability and what an amazing journey of growth it has been! At the core of my being I found a tender, passionate, loving and strong woman that was ready to step forward and be me. Self knowledge and self love is your greatest power and vehicle for change and this is what letting down your guard gives you.
The essential ingredient
Self care and healing is essential in anyones life. There are many beautiful awakening practices that are shifting and harmonising your energy field, including yoga, meditation, chakra movement, women’s/men’s circles and more.
They say that the best teacher is the one that has walked the path themselves, well that’s me. :) My passion and desire is to create safe and nourishing spaces for souls to come together to be nourished, rejuvenated and practice techniques to learn how they can embrace the best version of themselves.
Time out
When away from your normal environment you can easier let go of your set patterns. Taking time away from your everyday life to join a class, workshop or retreat is an excellent way to top up the nourishing of your soul. Being in a beautiful safe place surrounded by like-minded people and taking part in awakening practices is a powerful way to make great positive change.
By slowly weeding and nourishing your inner garden of consciousness your entire being blossoms into a lush sanctuary where you can dance the dance of life to the beautiful rhythm of inner strength, harmony, balance and joy.
